This estate, dedicated to the world of horses, has
become a compelling visit for horse riders and lovers of the peaceful
Mallorcan countryside. Surrounded by idyllic natural beauty of the
Mallorcan Levante hills, here you can enjoy one of the best riding
holidays ever.
The riding estate is located in the
southeastern part of the island, the most famous one of the Balearean - close to protected areas with undisturbed nature and a varied
landscape - and only four miles from the sandy beaches of Es Trenc and
Cala Mondragó.
The hotel, which has become the heart of the estate, has ten comfortable
private rooms and a Clubhouse (with a bar, restaurant, swimming pool,
terraces and small spa facility). It is built in the traditional style of a country home and
decorated in a functional and comfortable yet rustic way, with all the
necessary facilities for a relaxing vacation. It is your home for the week
for instructions and trail rides.
There is an arena for dressage and
jumping instructions as well as for beginner lessons. You can design your
riding program individually from day to day.
It will include instructions
on Andalusian stallions in dressage and show jumping as well. There are several
shorter and one full day ride for riders with some riding experience
into the countryside each week. Some excursions may include riding at
the beach (horses are transported there by vehicle). You will ride
well schooled and Andalusian and other Spanish
and Mallorquin horses, most of which have been bred and raised on this
reputable stud farm. There are many other activities and excursions
available - we recommend to rent a car for the week for greatest
flexibility --

Mallorca - Felanitx
Here
time seems to stand still and people are very friendly. Over the
centuries, the Romans, Moors and Spanish have all left their mark on the
island. This is reflected in all aspects of life on the island including
the music, the language and the food. Catalan cuisine reflects the
history of the island; olives from the Romans, almonds and oranges from
the Moors, peppers and tomatoes from the Spanish, and always fresh
seafood.
Accommodations
There is a comfortable and rustic-style country farmhouse (finca) with a
swimming pool, each room has a mini-bar, phone, satellite TV, a safe, a
fan, air conditioning, central heating and is designed to reflect the
local culture.
The on site spa offers a range of treatments to riders and is a great
way to relax at the end of the day.
Restaurant:
The restaurant serves Mediterranean food and local dishes. During the
summer meals are served on the terrace. Also barbecues in the garden.
Vegetarian menus are available with prior notice.
Facilities
The swimming pool is surrounded by a typical Mallorcan terrace with sun
beds to relax in. The new small Spa facility is well done and offers
many options from massages, wraps, manicures, facials etc.
Equestrian: Dressage and jumping arenas, excellent
stables, clubhouse.
As well as the trail centre, the finca also houses a thriving Andalusian
stud and you are welcome to walk around the paddocks of the mares and
foals, the yearlings and two year olds.
The surrounding landscape and the quality of the horses allows pleasant
and exciting excursions. The instructors are very experienced and speak
several languages.
The week
There are lessons in the arena to improve your general riding,
dressage and/or show jumping lessons. The rides build up gradually with
one or two hours for the first couple of days and the remaining days are
full day rides to explore the local hills and to the beaches of the
north of the island.
We can arrange for private one on one instruction sessions for
you as well. You can combine this with more groups sessions or trail rides.
Excursions can be either one or two hour trails, a half day to the
monastery, or a whole day to a beach in the north of Mallorca. One of the highlights of
this horseback riding getaway is a visit to an ancient fortress high on a
hill, with a commanding view of the landscape - Fort Castillo de Santueri.
Sample trail rides:
- After you have finished breakfast, your first trail ride will be
around the estate. You will visit the vineyard and the village of “Son Negre” where there is an ancient church and school. After lunch
you will have a one one one instruction session or you
will take another trail ride through the countryside and see almond
trees and some of the country’s beautiful landscapes.
- Your six mile trail ride will wind you through some
of the most beautiful terrain Mallorca has to offer which finishes on
the top of a hill at the famous castle “Castillo de Santueri”. Here you
will see almond and carob trees and the village below. It is commonly
believed to have been built by the Muslims in the 14th century and was
the scene of many battles as it offered control of the whole area. After
your lunch in “Can Raull” (mallorquin meals), on your return, you will
see typical rural houses and fruit-bearing trees. This evening you may
have a barbeque dinner
- with a minimum of 3 riders we will take you on an all day trip to the
Bay of Alcudia for a wonderful day on the beach and riding on sandy
forest trails.
