Experience a remote area few
people see. Encompassing 60 miles of coastline
within the Parque Nacional Bahia Loreto,
circumnavigating Isla Carmen in a kayak is one of
Baja's best adventures. The Sierra Giganta Range
plunges into the Sea of Cortez, creating a
stunningly beautiful backdrop during the trip.
We'll make camps on the many white sand beaches that
make up Carmen's shore. Canyon hikes take us into
the island's desert interior, while kayaking allows
an intimate exploration of the many coves and caves.
The clear waters of the Sea of Cortez teem with
life, and the snorkeling is excellent. We often see
pods of dolphins, as well as massive fin whales.
The expedition begins with your arrival in Loreto
and, after an adventurous ten days of paddling,
you'll arrive at the take-out site near Puerto
Escondido.
